Web-Safe Type Fonts

There are many fonts available on most computer systems - but if you use a font that your Internet visitors do not have installed on their own computer, they will not be able to read your page ... it may be all garbage to them!

These are generally considered the "Web-Safe" type fonts (shown in 14-point size):

  • Arial
  • Arial Black
  • Arial Narrow
  • Book Antiqua
  • Bookman Old Style
  • Century Gothic
  • Comic Sans MS
  • Courier
  • Courier New
  • Default
  • Fixedsys
  • Garamond
  • Haettenschweller
  • Impact
  • Lucida Console
  • Monotype Corsiva
  • MS Sans Serif
  • MS Serif
  • Small Fonts
  • System
  • Tahoma
  • Terminal
  • Times New Roman
  • Trebuchet MS
  • Verdana

You can use other fonts in designing logos, banners, etc., but they have to be saved as art - and that means they will take longer to load and may drive your visitors away if they don't want to wait that long.
